This brief animation was both created with, and inspired from monotype printmaking. I noticed that, when creating a ghost print, the forms I created with ink were not only lighter, but also slightly distorted. Laying the initial print and the ghost print side by side, I was struck with how much it reminded me of the pages of a flipbook. To create the frames for this animation, I repeatedly painted over the residual ink forms on my plate. The figure and the water were done separately, via the same method. I photographed the prints, then aligned and combined them digitally
