“Excised” is a series of manipulated photos, continuing the exploration on humanity’s impact on the landscape that began with “Terminal.” In “Excised,” evidence of humanity is removed from the image, leaving only what we would traditionally consider nature. The result is empty, white forms populating what should be untouched environment. This series is intended to act as an open ended prompt to consider our relationship with nature- even, perhaps, to question the purpose of a distinction between us and our world.
